Pre-School Information

The Huntington YMCA offers pre-school classes especially designed for the development of young children ages 2-5 years old with age appropriate skills. This program includes experiences for pre-kindergarten skills, social and physical growth. Educational field trips, planned throughout the year, are also an important part of their learning. It is our goal to insure the children are learning in a warm and supportive environment for their "first school" experience.

Gym

Gross motor skills are a key part of our pre-school program. All classes will have scheduled gym time concentrating on various developmental skills and sports.

Swimming

Please note, the swimming portion of our program has changed from previous years. The YMCA values the importance of learning to swim, therefore, al pre-school children enrolled in 2009-2010 school year will receive $10.00 off of each 7 week swim session you enroll in. The swim class must be age appropriate. The discount is only good from September 2009-May 2010 and is applied to the member swim lesson rate. See the front desk to register for available class times. This will allow more classroom time to concentrate on pre-kindergarten skills and children will be in smaller swim classes for a more detailed lession.

Children must be 2, 3 or 4 by August 1 2010 to enroll for respective classes.

To quality for member rate on pre-school classes you must have family or single parent family membership.

Tuition

Twinkling Stars:

2 Day Class: Must be age 2 by August 1, 2010.

Members: $51/month.

Non-Members: $61/month.

Children are not required to be toilet independent.

Super Stars: 3, 4 or 5 year olds

2 Day Class: Must be age 3 or 4 by August 1, 2010.

Members: $61/month.

Non-Members: $71/month.

3 Day AM Class: Must be age 4 by August 1, 2010.

3 Day PM Class: Must be age 3 or 4 by August 1, 2010.

Members: $81/month.

Non-Members: $91/month.

Children are required to be toilet independent.

*The yearly tuition fee is prorated over nine months. Therefore, vacation days per month do not affect your monthly payment. Payments are due the first day of the month. If tuition is not paid by the 10th of the month, a $10.00 late fee will be added.

To Register

1. $50.00 registration fee - includes school bag and t-shirt.

2. One monthly class fee - applied to May 2010.

3. Fill out registration form, sign and date.

*Fees are non-refundable. Scholarships are available to those who qualify. The enclosed registration form must be submitted with your fees. Class days and times are selected and reserved at that time, but subject to change depending on enrollment. Important orientation information will be mailed to you in mid-August. Mandatory orientation meetings will be held in the evening the week of August 31, 2010 with parents and child attending. Classes will start either Tuesday, September 7th or Wednesday, September 8th and run through mid May 2011.
