Have you always wanted to be a runner but never knew how to start. Or just never had the discipline to get past the pain of the first couple of weeks. The Y realized that there was a need for a running program and already had several members who were interested in helping prospective runners be successful in their quest.
“The athlete who says that something cannot be done should never interrupt the one who is doing it.”
The Running program is designed for all runners but really addresses the concerns of the Beginner. Over the course of 9 weeks, an experienced runner and YMCA certified strength training instructor will take you from walking/jogging 60 second intervals, to running a 5k. It is closely monitored to keep all the participants safe, but challenges everyone to reach their potential.
